District Grants | District 5495

District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad. Each district chooses which activities it will fund with these grants.

What district grants support:

You can use district grants to fund a variety of district and club projects and activities, including:

Humanitarian projects, including service travel and disaster recovery efforts
Scholarships for any level, length of time, location, or area of study
Youth programs, including Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotaract, and Interact
Vocational training teams, which are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about their field or to learn more about it themselves

Applying For a District Grant

Step 1. Make sure that at least two members of your club attend one of the Grant Management Seminars (listed below) - this is required to qualify for a District Grant.

Step 2. Review and sign the Memorandum of Understanding. This can be signed electronically at RotaryGrants.org or a signed copy can be uploaded to RotaryGrants.org.

Step 3. Carefully read and review the District Grant Guidelines.

Step 4. Submit District Grant application online at RotaryGrants.org. (detailed instruction included in District Grant Guidelines).

Step 5. After project submission, the application will be reviewed by the District Grants Chair and published if the club and the application meet all requirements.

Step 6. The club follows the electronic signatures process from RotaryGrants.org. Both the current club president and the

president elect must sign electronically.

Step 7. District approval process.

Step 8. Funds will be released to the clubs for all approved projects. This will be done through electronic bank transfer.

Step 9. Club completes the project.

Step 10. Club submits a final report to RotaryGrants.org.

Timeline

The deadline for submitting funding requests for the 2024-2025 Rotary year is May 31st, 2024. Late applications will be considered only if funds are not completely allocated to projects whose applications were submitted and club qualification requirements met before the deadline.
The District Rotary Foundation Committee will meet as soon as practical after the deadline to develop a spending plan for District Grant funds.
A spending plan will be posted on the District 5495 website. Funding approval will not be final until the District Grant has been approved by The Rotary Foundation.
The District 5495 Grants Chair will apply for the District Grant using the approved District Spending Plan as soon as possible following the Committee's Resolution.

Funding for approved projects will be sent to clubs as soon as funds become available from The Rotary Foundation
