We have two districts joined into one – D5495 – but we still offer two terrific RYLA programs!

Same programs, different names – formerly RYLA 5490 is now called Camp Pinerock, and is still held in Prescott over Martin Luther King weekend in January. RYLA 5510 is now called Camp Ponderosa, held in April in Heber.
The cost is the same for either camp – $400/student, paid for by a sponsoring Rotary club. Camp Pinerock is currently accepting student applications through November 12. Go to ryla5495.org for more information. Camp Ponderosa will be opening
applications right after January 1, 2018 (same website).

As part of the RYLA curriculum, students are introduced to a community service project – Kids Against Hunger (KAH) meal packing through the Manzanita Outreach Organization, an Arizona Charitable Tax Credit organization. Camp Pinerock will once again bring KAH in to beat last year’s record of 42,552 nutritious meals packed in three hours, with the packaged food distributed to local emergency food providers.

Camp Ponderosa will offer this same program for the first time in April 2018. While we are all excited about helping our local communities, we need your help. We need monetary donations to cover the cost of the food. Please consider donating up to $400 – single/head of household; or $800 – married filing jointly and receive an Arizona dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Please donate now at: 2018 RYLA Kids Against Hunger event sponsorship.

Look for future updates on our programs and fundraising efforts!

Yours in Rotary,
RYLA 5495
