On Friday, October 23, I hope you’ll join me at Topgolf Scottsdale for our District 5495 tournament. Bring a fellow Rotarian, a friend, or a guest who would enjoy an afternoon of fun for a purpose. The proceeds will support our Rotary youth programs, helping us create opportunities for young people across our district. You don’t have to be a golfer to be part of it—come for the fellowship and the chance to support our youth.

I also ask each of you to think of one person who cares about this community and might enjoy being part of Rotary. You don’t need to give them a membership pitch. Invite them to a club meeting, a fundraiser, or a service project, and let them see what we do and meet the people who do it. That’s often where the “why” of Rotary becomes clear. And once someone joins, let’s learn what matters to them and help them find a place to contribute.

Finally, please consider giving what you can to The Rotary Foundation. Gifts to the Annual Fund help support Rotary’s work worldwide and generate funds our district can use for district and global grants. Rotary Direct makes giving easy by charging a recurring gift to your credit card each month. Ask your club treasurer or Foundation chair to help you get started. Your gift may be tax deductible, depending on your circumstances, but the reason I give is simpler: I know Rotary will put it to work doing good.
