Are you interested in expanding your leadership capabilities and perhaps considering leadership positions beyond your club?  GREAT NEWS!  There are two opportunities for you to do just that – right here in your own backyard. And both will be having sessions starting in August.  Click the Read More tab to learn about Rotary Leadership Institute and Rotary Leadership Academy.

Rotary Leadership Institute
The Institute offers a leadership development program in three full day sessions (Parts I, II and III). The courses are designed to provide Rotary knowledge and to develop leadership skills for voluntary organizations. Some examples of course sessions include:  The Perfect Meeting; A Look Outside the Club; Membership Orientation & Activation; Introduction to Leadership; Creating Service Projects; Problem Solving Workshops, along with many more exciting topics.

Should our club participate?

If your club cares about its future, it will want the best leadership possible. This is an outstanding opportunity for each club to improve the Rotary knowledge of its key people, who will also be exposed to new ideas of leadership. The exchange of ideas with other experienced Rotarians alone makes the courses worthwhile.

Who should be nominated to attend the Institute courses?

The Institute recommends that clubs nominate those Rotarians who appear to have the potential for club lead- ership, not necessarily as future presidents. They should preferably be at least 3-4 years away from a possible presidency or other key leadership post. Candidates should certainly have a strong interest in Rotary and be ready to be exposed to the larger world of Rotary.

Rotary Leadership Academy

The Arizona Rotary Leadership Academy is an exciting and innovative distance learning approach to leadership development. Through this vehicle, selected Rotary Club Past-Presidents obtain exceptional training at home, via their computers, under the guidance of some of our most capable and experienced Past District Governors and senior Rotarians. They will be able to work at their own pace and on their own schedules.

Recognizing the increasing demands on Rotary leaders’ time, as well as each Rotary district’s need to find and equip for district leadership the most capable and talented Rotarians within their widespread geographical boundaries, the District 5510 Leadership Academy was created in Rotary Year 2004-2005 as an exciting and innovative distance-learning approach to leadership development. Through this vehicle, selected “Past” Club Presidents of Rotary clubs can obtain exceptional training at home, via their own computers, under the guidance of some of our most capable and experienced Past District Governors and senior Rotarians from the Arizona Districts. They are able to work at their own pace and on their own schedules, within the guidelines of the program. We believe the primary objective of all district leadership is to help Rotary clubs succeed in accomplishing their own objectives and goals in meeting the needs of their communities and the world community.
