The Prescott Sunup Rotary Club once again came to the rescue of the elderly and/or disabled by helping a woman living alone who was being threatened with eviction. The Coalition for Compassion and Justice (CCJ), an organization with whom Sunup works closely, contacted the club with an appeal to save a woman’s home from being removed from the mobile home park because she was in violation of the park’s paint code.
Prescott Sunup promptly went into action, meeting with a professional painter at the site to evaluate the required material and workforce, purchasing supplies, coordinating with CCJ and marshalling the Prescott Sunup members for the painting project.

The Sunup volunteers met early on Saturday morning and by 2 p.m. the entire mobile home, patio, cabinets and fencing looked completely renovated. The next weekend members took the woman to the hardware store so she could pick out a color for her windows and door trim, then spent the afternoon painting the trims.

Later that month, during a follow up visit, she proudly exclaimed to them that she went from almost being evicted to having the nicest looking mobile home in the park. The Prescott Sunup Club is proud to demonstrate the great things that are accomplished when Rotary gets to work!
