For 33 years, Scottsdale Sunrise has provided a great fun-filled day for special kids to just be themselves, along with their families. This year, it was held at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park on Saturday, February 24.

The club provides lunch, drinks, ice cream, popcorn, bouncy things, pony rides, a petting zoo, train rides, carousel rides, local team mascots and cheerleaders, games with prizes, fire trucks and vendors to assist the families in their needs—all totally free.
Even with the colder weather this year, there were about 2,200 people in attendance. As the day grew on, the weather warmed and everyone had a great time. Scottsdale Sunrise funds this project with their annual golf tournament, which will take place on Friday, March 23, at Starfire Golf Course. If you have an interest in participating, please go to www.scottsdalesunriserotaryclub.org and sign up to play golf, sponsor a hole, participate in the 50/50 raffle or just to make a donation.

The club also have a number of great companies who contribute to Special Day for Special Kids with donations of the park areas at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park, The Mechanical Society for the free train and carousel rides, Albertson’s for food and drinks, Gatorade for drinks, Frito Lay for chips, Shamrock for ice cream and Penske trucks.  They also had help with their games from ASU Rotaract, Saguaro Interact and Boy Scout Troops #30 and #649. The club thanks all of them for their continued support.
