Whether you agree or disagree, social media is an important part of the world that we live in today. It really depends on how we choose to use it. Social media provides a platform for sharing thoughts, ideas and, in some instances, it is a mechanism for change. It has become a communication tool spanning not only cities and states, but countries and continents. For these reasons, it is important for us as Rotarians to embrace this opportunity and use these tools to our advantage.
As a Rotary District, we currently utilize Facebook as a resource to connect Clubs and Rotarians across the State. Our District page can be located by clicking here or visiting https://www.facebook.com/rotary5495/. We encourage everyone in the District to please take some time, visit, “Like” and “Share” the page. More so, we want you to be a part of the conversation … we want you to engage! By doing so, you are connecting with Rotarians across the region and helping further the mission of Rotary in our communities!

In the coming months, we will be reaching out to Club Presidents to elect a Social Media liaison for each club. This person will be responsible for maintaining their Club’s Facebook page and working with the District to ensure there is a consistent branding message among clubs. If your Club does not have a Facebook page, we can help you create one! If you have any questions in the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to our District 5495 Social Media Co-Chair – Christopher Amos via phone (480-263-0382) or email (Christopher.l.amos@gmail.com).
