District Leaders Support Clubs by Attending Resource Summit

Assistant Governors are the first source of support for clubs! District Committees provide a resource to support your Assistant Governors!  Leaders of various District Committees and Assistant Governors from across District 5495 had the opportunity to meet on Saturday, October 20 for a full day of sharing updates and ideas about services for clubs.

The first-ever Summit was organized by District Leadership Development and Education Chair Angel Aguirre and Team. By design, it provided a forum for communicating about what our District level resource teams are working. Participants had the opportunity to give feedback, ask questions and make suggestions.

To prepare for the summit, each Committee Chair and team created a “Vision Board’’ as a display for the other participants.  The Vision Board was essentially a visual, highlighting the strategic plan for their program or service.  They included an overall vision, a mission/purpose statement, and both immediate and long-term goals.  Participants spent the morning sharing brief presentations, browsing and discussing the wealth of information the boards provided.  Assistant Governors came away with lots of resources to share with area clubs.

A shift occurred in the afternoon, when all participants took part in lively round table discussions.  Conversations focused on 3 priority topics for Rotary Clubs:  Member Engagement, Enhancing Public Image and Awareness, and Focusing and Increasing Humanitarian Service.  The outputs generated in the round tables will be used in future planning.

The work being accomplished by our many district volunteers is truly inspirational!  Their creativity and commitment to providing the highest quality services and materials was clear.   Because of their efforts on our behalf, clubs and members reap the benefits as we work to make a difference in our communities, schools and around the world!
